Wesley Crook served as a Canadian Pacific Railway engineer for many years and took up residence in the Brooks CPR House with his family during those years.
A young man when WWI broke out, Wes served with several of his brothers overseas. He was stationed with the Canadian Engineers and served for three and a half years in France.
At the end of the war, he returned to school to complete his engineering degree and graduated in 1920.
His brother Herb convinced him to come to Brooks, and he was hired in Brooks as an instrument man.
When the U.F.A. was formed, the EID decided that they only needed one engineer for the system, and they hired Wes.
He worked as the EID manager until his retirement.
He also helped with the building of the Brooks Hospital and was the chairman for a time there.
Wes Crook and his wife had a large influence on the social aspects of the Brooks community.
